Network licensing does not overload the network because progeCAD runs separately on each computer, and license usage is controlled by the NLM program. The NLM server is a program that can be installed on any computer within the network, regardless of whether progeCAD is installed on it. The program itself takes up less than 100 MB of disk space and has no special system requirements, meaning there is no need for a dedicated network server computer. An additional useful feature is the License Take Away for NLM licenses – it is possible to temporarily transfer the license to a laptop or another computer that works offline.
progeCAD 2D/3D is very similar in appearance and functionality to AutoCAD, is compatible with AutoCAD, and also uses the DWG format.
